Anja Böckmann’s research focuses on structural biology, specifically in the field of solid-state NMR. After her postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University in New York, she conducted pioneering work in this field in France as a tenured researcher at the CNRS in Lyon. Her research is on proteins associated with neurodegenerative disease, as well as viral (membrane) proteins from liver viruses and emerging bunyaviruses. She was awarded the “Prix Pierre Desnuelle” by the French Académie des Sciences and, more recently, the “Prix Impulscience” by the Bettencourt-Schueller Foundation.
