Dr. Anita Thaler

Anita Thaler heads the research area Gender, Science and Technology at IFZ in Graz, Austria. She has studied psychology, education science and women’s and gender studies. Her research analyses mutual interactions of science, technology and society (STS), with a focus on transition and learning processes towards sustainability and social gender justice. Current transdisciplinary research projects focus on intersectionality discourses in biodiversity research, and participatory human-centered technology design in the fields of health technology and AI. With her working group Queer STS she publishes an annual open access online journal, the ‘Queer-Feminist Science and Technology Studies Forum’.
