Andrea Alù

Andrea Alù is a Distinguished Professor at the City University of New York (CUNY), Founding Director at the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center, and Einstein Professor of Physics at the CUNY Graduate Center. He has made seminal contributions to the field of metamaterials, demonstrating exotic wave phenomena emerging through the interactions of light and sound with materials engineered at the nanoscale. He has received several scientific awards, including the NSF Alan T. Waterman award, the Max Born award, the Brillouin Medal and the Blavatnik National Award for Physics and Engineering.
