Alexander Bonde

Alexander Bonde is Secretary General of the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), where he is responsible for leading Europe’s largest environmental foundation and its affiliated organisations, including DBU Naturerbe GmbH and the DBU Center for Environmental Communication in Osnabrück. The foundation supports innovative projects in environmental protection, with a focus on environmental technology, research, nature conservation, environmental education, and cultural heritage preservation.

He previously served as a Member of the German Bundestag from 2002 to 2011 and was Minister for Rural Affairs and Consumer Protection of the state of Baden-Württemberg from 2011 to 2016. With a background in political leadership and public administration, he has extensive experience in strategy development and environmental policy, particularly in the fields of nature conservation and sustainable development.
