ABOUT
At Falling Walls Lab Uppsala, bachelor’s and master’s students, PhD candidates, postdocs, and early-career professionals from all disciplines have the opportunity to present innovative ideas.
A maximum of ten candidates will be selected to present their ideas to a jury at an open event at Uppsala University on 14 September. The winner in Uppsala will have the opportunity to present their idea at the Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin in November 2026.
Public disclosure
Pitching at Falling Walls Lab is considered public disclosure. This means that if you share detailed technical information about your idea, it may make it more difficult − or in some cases impossible − to obtain patent protection later on. At this stage, however, you do not need to explain exactly how your solution works technically for us to assess your idea.
What does this mean in practice?
- Focus on describing the problem, the target group, and how your solution creates value.
- Avoid sharing detailed information about specific technical solutions, unique methods, algorithms, formulas, or other elements that are central to how your innovation works.
Students, researchers, and staff at Uppsala University who are selected to pitch will be contacted in advance. UU Innovation will support you in preparing your presentation, helping to preserve the possibility of future patenting.
