Falling Walls Engage × Exploring By The Seat of Your Pants

Falling Walls Engage is partnering with Exploring By The Seat of Your Pants (EBTSOYP) to present a special broadcast featuring Nondas Ferreira da Silva, Science Breakthrough of the Year 2025 in Science Engagement.

Exploring By The Seat of Your Pants connects scientists, researchers, and explorers with classrooms worldwide through free, live, and interactive virtual broadcasts. Each month, the organization coordinates more than 30 sessions featuring experts from a wide range of disciplines. All broadcasts are recorded and made publicly available on YouTube as a permanent educational resource. The broadcast is hosted by Jesse Hildebrand, Engage Finalist 2025.

Through this collaboration, Falling Walls Engage and EBTSOYP are presenting a dedicated episode highlighting Nondas Ferreira da Silva and his science engagement project. The 45-minute program includes a presentation and discussion with the Engage Finalist.

Nondas Ferreira da Silva (Engage Finalist 2025)

Nondas Silva is a Brazilian social and environmental entrepreneur from the Cerrado region of Northern Minas Gerais. He is the founder and president of Instituto New Era, a youth-led organization advancing community-based ecosystem restoration in the Brazilian Cerrado.

His work focuses on strengthening local restoration capacity, promoting environmental education, and building inclusive governance models that place traditional and Indigenous peoples at the center of territorial development. By bridging scientific knowledge with Indigenous and traditional wisdom, he fosters locally rooted, socially just, and climate-resilient solutions.
