  • Sugar Industry Trust Fund for Education (SITFE)
  • KwaZulu Natal Department of Education – Special Needs Education Services
  • MiET Africa

KEY LEARNINGS

  • The underlying cause of the social ills in our rural communities is the lack of
guidance, patience and love from home and their schools.
  • Increased discouragement of female learners to participate in school due to
the non-existence of support emotionally, financially and physically.
  • The high levels of illiteracy result in communication barriers even when illustrated in their home languages. Teachers often intervene during workshops to help us express concepts.
