Andrea Guzmán Mesa is a PhD student in Astrophysics at the Center for Space and Habitability of the University of Bern, Switzerland. Originally a mathematician from Colombia, she holds a master’s degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the Erasmus+ programme called Astromundus. Currently, her research focuses on studying the atmospheres and the interiors of the planets out of our Solar System. She is also an advocate for inclusion, equity and diversity of minorities in STEM fields.

I want to contribute to the quest for life in the Universe. I want this because it will help us to understand better our own cosmic origins on Earth and the Solar System. I can do this because I belong to a research group that studies the chemical fingerprints of the atmospheres and interiors of Exoplanets.
