Protecting Academic Freedom: Insights and Initiatives (tbd)

Academic freedom underpins scientific excellence, democratic resilience, and the public value of universities. Yet political interference, censorship, precarious funding and employment structures, harassment, disinformation, and restrictions on international collaboration increasingly constrain academic freedom. How research institutions balance institutional autonomy with openness, inclusion, and public engagement will ultimately shape our trust in science and its role in democratic societies.
