Kat Austen is a person. She melds disciplines and media, creating sculptural and new media installations, performances and participatory work. Austen’s practice is driven by a motivation to move towards a more socially and environmentally just future. Senior Fellow at UCL Arts and Sciences, Austen is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry.
Austen has exhibited at Changwon Sculpture Biennale, Jeju Museum of Art, V&A Museum, Bonhams, Bozar Centre for Fine Arts among others, and has performed around the globe, including at Opera North, Fusion and Ars Electronica.
Kat Austen is a 2024 Falling Walls winner in the Art & Science category.
