Carri Duncan is Managing Partner at Karaktero, where she is responsible for capital markets advisory, with a particular focus on Healthcare and Technology. Born and raised in Detroit, she holds a PhD in Neuroscience from ETH-Zurich and has resided in Europe for several years. After completing her academic and biomedical research work at the ETH and Novartis, Carri established herself in the financial industry, working in healthcare equity research and corporate finance at Credit Suisse and Sal Oppenheim-Macquarie Capital. As a healthcare consultant at Egon Zehnder and senior executive and member of the chairman’s circle at Bayer, Carri advised the C-suite on leadership and capital markets strategy.
Beyond her work, Carri is deeply committed to creating more opportunities for promising entrepreneurs and minority founders. She is an active angel investor and a member of the European Business Angels Network and Alma Angels, which support promising entrepreneurs in Europe and female entrepreneurs, respectively.
Additionally, she serves as a mentor to women building high-growth companies, providing support to Founderland and its accelerator, Compass, which is building the fastest-growing community of women of color founders across Europe. Having lived and worked in 5 countries, Carri is an empathic supporter of diversity and inclusion to improve outcomes not only in the capital markets but also critically in healthcare.
