Dr. Solaiman Shokur is a senior scientist at the MySpace Lab (CHUV) and the Translational Neural Engineering lab (EPFL), specializing in Neurotechnologies to restore sensory-motor functions. He earned his Ph.D. with distinction at EPFL in 2013. From 2010 to 2012, he was a visiting scientist at Duke University, studying the rubber hand illusion in non-human primates and co-authoring seminal studies on invasive brain-machine interfaces that restore sensory feedback via intracortical stimulation. From 2014 to 2019, he coordinated research at AASDAP neurorehabilitation institute in Sao Paulo, focusing on non-invasive brain-body interfaces. Since 2019, he leads projects at TNE LAB, developing bionic technologies to restore sensory feedback, including thermal and wetness sensations in upper-limb amputees.

Solaiman Shokur is a 2024 Falling Walls Winner in the Engineering & Technology category.
