Sean Decatur

Biochemist and educator, Sean M. Decatur is President of the American Museum of Natural History. He was previously president of Kenyon College and has held academic leadership posts at Oberlin College, Mount Holyoke College, and MIT. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and serves on the boards of Swarthmore College, his alma mater; the Joyce Foundation; RSCA; NYC Tourism + Conventions; and Bank Street College of Education. He received a Ph.D. in biophysical chemistry from Stanford University.
