Dr. Gerrit K. Rößler is the managing director of the Present Futures Forum Berlin. Together with the scientific director and the steering committee, he develops event formats and expands the forum’s interdisciplinary network. Until September 2019 he was the program coordinator of the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) in New York City. There he managed the day-to-day business of the DWIH and expanded the center’s network and partnerships. Before joining the DWIH, he was head of the German Academic International Network (GAIN) from 2012 to 2017, also in New York. GAIN is a joint initiative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Dr. Rößler designed and organized events, workshops and training courses to support German researchers in North America in their professional development. At home and abroad he has given numerous lectures and published essays in various journals on building and maintaining international networks and support structures for mobile researchers. Dr. Rößler received his PhD in German literature and culture from the University of Virginia in 2013; Before that he passed the first state examination in music and English in 2007 at the University of Dortmund. From 2011 to 2012 he worked as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Queens College, CUNY.
