Dr. Anna Bakenecker develops magnetically controlled micro- and nanorobots which in future can be loaded with drugs and precisely navigated to their targeted locations within the body offering the potential for improved drug delivery and targeted therapies.
She studied Physics at the University of Münster and Heidelberg in Germany and obtained her PhD from the University of Lübeck, Germany about Micro Robotics and Magnetic Particle Imaging. As a Post Doc at IBEC in Barcelona, Spain, she studied the behavior of magnetic-enzymatic nanomotors for enhanced delivery in nanomedicine. Currently, she is a Group Leader for Magnetic Methods at the Fraunhofer IMTE in Lübeck, Germany.
