• Falling Walls Venture is a competition for science start-ups, meaning companies/spin-offs whose products/services are based on scientific research and advanced technology. Nominations are open to all scientific disciplines.
  • Start-ups must be endorsed by a nominating institution. This can be a university or a research institution. The ideal person to nominate a company is the Head of Technology Transfer, Head of University Incubator, or any other department head that oversees your local start-up network.
  • The company must be founded (incorporated) by the time you apply and cannot be older than 5 years (i.e. founded after 1 January 2016)
  • Start-ups should at least have a proof of concept/prototype and should already have received initial seed funding (currently raising Series A or Pre-Series A)
  • If you have already participated in Falling Walls Venture as a presenter on stage, you cannot apply again.
  • You must be 18 years or older when submitting your application.

If you are having problems with the form, please contact us at venture@falling-walls.com. A draft of your application will be saved on our website and, if not submitted, deleted automatically after seven days. During this time, you can access the draft via the link above. Once you click the submit button, you will no longer be able to edit your application.

  • Applications must be submitted in English.
  • Please have your pitch deck (pdf) ready, covering the following aspects: problem & solution, USP, vision, target market, business model, competition, Go2Market strategy, team, investment & use of funds
  • Please prepare a video pitch, showing you and the story of your start-up (max. 500 MB). Please check the video requirements and recommendations beforehand here. The video forms part of the decision basis of our jury and might also be showcased globally via our online platforms.
