Wilhelm Kaenders

Wilhelm holds a Physics Diploma from Bonn and Imperial College, London. He finished his PhD in Hannover in the field of laser-cooled atoms with Prof. Meschede. He is founder and CTO of TOPTICA Photonics SE, today an international 600 people diode and fiber laser-based hightech company, focusing on quantum, bio tech, and applications in semiconductor metrology.

Wilhelm is OSA (Fellow), SPIE (Fellow). Since 2009 he serves as the Chairman of the Fachbeirat “LASER World of Photonics”. His work was recognized with the Leibinger Innovation Award in 2016 and the OSA Paul-Forman-Award in 2017.
