Thorsten Bastigkeit

Thorsten Bastigkeit is Global Head of Research & Open Innovation at Henkel Consumer Brands, where he leads research partnerships and innovation initiatives focused on sustainable technologies and consumer products. In this role, he works at the interface of industry, academia, start-ups, and innovation networks to accelerate the development of future-oriented solutions. 

Over the course of his career at Henkel, Dr. Bastigkeit has held a range of international leadership positions in research and development across laundry care, home care, and dishwashing technologies in Europe and North America. He holds a PhD in Physical Organic Chemistry from the Ruhr University Bochum and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. His work is particularly focused on fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange to advance innovation and sustainability
