Thierry Dauxois

Thierry Dauxois is a French physicist appointed Chairman and CEO of the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) in June 2026. A specialist in nonlinear and statistical physics and the dynamics of stratified fluids, he joined the CNRS in 1994, directed the Physics Laboratory at ENS de Lyon from 2012 to 2020, and led the CNRS Institute of Physics from 2021.
