Philippe Baptiste is the French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Space, a position he has held since October 2025, having previously served as Minister responsible for Higher Education and Research from December 2024. A computer scientist and former professor at École Polytechnique, he was President of the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) from 2021 to 2024 and, prior to that, Associate Director General of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). He has also served as Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Total, and as Partner and Director at Boston Consulting Group.
