Peter Robinson studied mathematics and computer science at Columbia University and medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2000, he completed his specialist training in paediatrics at Charité, where he held a professorship (Medical Genomics), while also serving as a fellow at the MPI in Berlin and as a co-opted professor at the Institute for Bioinformatics at FU Berlin. In 2016, he moved to the Jackson Laboratory (USA), where he is professor of computational biology. In January 2024, Peter Robinson accepted the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship for Artificial Intelligence at the BIH.
