Michael Karrer

Dr. Michael Karrer is senior vice president and global head of sustainability, environmental management and occupational safety at ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

Before his current assignment, he served for six years as global head of supplier management, focusing on supplier quality development and SOP readiness. He also initiated ZF’s supplier risk management approach. In addition, he also was responsible for industrializations of commercial vehicle products in China and Russia and worked in supply chain optimization projects at several global plants.

Before joining ZF, Michael Karrer worked for five years as a research assistant at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany and delivered his doctoral thesis on Supply Chain Performance Management. He studied International Business Administration in Innsbruck (Austria) and Louvain (Belgium).
