Melanie Woodin is the 17th President of the University of Toronto, appointed in July 2025. An internationally recognized neuroscientist studying the mechanisms of learning and memory, she is a Professor of Cell & Systems Biology and previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Science, the university’s largest faculty. She holds a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Calgary.
