Matthias Johannes Wachter

Matthias Johannes Wachter is Managing Director of the NewSpace Initiative at the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Germany's leading industry association, where he has worked since 2008. He oversees space policy, international cooperation, and security policy, and serves on the Programme Commission for Space at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). He is also Deputy Chair of the Economic Advisory Board at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and a Lieutenant Colonel in the Bundeswehr Reserve.
