Dr. Marina Gertsvolf is the Director of the Quantum Sensors Program (QSP) at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). In this role, she leads collaborative research projects between NRC scientists and academic and industrial partners across Canada and internationally that aim to advance the state of the art of quantum sensing and strengthen the Canadian quantum ecosystem. Prior to her current role, Dr. Gertsvolf led Frequency and Time team at the NRC where she was responsible for the development and dissemination of the SI unit of the second and UTC(NRC), the official time for Canada. She holds a PhD in ultrafast physics from the University of Ottawa.
