Julianne McCall

Julianne McCall, PhD is the CEO of the California Council on Science and Technology (CCST), where she leads efforts to connect science and technology expertise with state policy and governance innovation. Previously, she directed California’s Precision Medicine program in the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research and co-authored the state’s first Surgeon General’s report. Trained as a neuroscientist, Dr. McCall conducted research in the U.S. and Europe before transitioning to public policy. She is also active in science communication, education, and public engagement initiatives.
