Joachim Faber is a German business executive and former CEO of Allianz Asset Management. He served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse from 2012 to 2020 and currently chairs the Supervisory Board of HQ Holding and the Board of Trustees of the Deutsche Krebshilfe Foundation.
Faber holds a doctorate in law from the Hochschule für Verwaltungswissenschaften in Speyer, with a research stay at the Sorbonne. He began his career at Citicorp, leading its capital markets operations across Europe, North America, and Japan. He joined Allianz in 1997, eventually becoming CEO of Allianz Asset Management, where he oversaw growth of assets under management from €23 billion to €1.5 trillion, including acquisitions of PIMCO and Rosenberg Capital Management.
He has held numerous international and national board positions, including Investcorp Holdings, Paramount Holdings, HSBC Holdings, Coty Inc., and Osram Licht AG. Since leaving active executive roles, Faber has invested in startups and innovation initiatives, contributing his expertise in corporate governance, finance, and strategic growth.
