Franziska Tanneberger

She is a peatland scientist at Greifswald University and Director of the Greifswald Mire Centre, Germany. Her research links biodiversity, peat formation, restoration and ecosystem services. Publications include the "European Mires Book" (2017) and the “Global Peatlands Assessment” (2022). The Greifswald Mire Centre is a science-policy-practice-interface with 150 peatland experts of various disciplines, managing the Global Peatland Database and founding member of the Global Peatlands Initiative.
