David Alis

David Alis is President of the University of Rennes, France. He previously served as President of the University of Rennes 1 (2016–2023) and held several senior leadership roles within French higher education, including Vice-President of the university in charge of human resources and first vice-president. He has also held leadership responsibilities in national higher education networks, including France Universités.

He is a professor of management science with a research focus on human resource management, organizational flexibility, and work-related risks. His academic work has been conducted within the CREM research unit (CNRS) and includes studies on organizational change and workplace well-being. He has also been actively involved in collaborations between academia and industry, higher education policy development, and innovation initiatives in France.
