Bettina Martin was spokesperson for the Berlin state administration and led press relations at Tangens GmbH. From 2000 to 2013, she held various positions at the SPD Federal Executive Committee. She then headed the office of the Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. Since 2019, she has been Minister for Education, Science, and Culture of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and since 2021, Minister for Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In 2025, Bettina Martin is President of the Conference of Science Ministers.
