Ayse Kose is a bioengineer specializing in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Her research focuses on mimicking bio-piezoelectricity to improve bone and cartilage repair. She works at the intersection of material design, biomimetic intermediates, and animal-free science. She develops novel sustainable regenerative approaches to bridge biology and engineering in biomedical sciences by using organ-on-chip models, bio fabrication, bioprocess tools, and beyond. Ayse also mentors female students through The Bilim KızıTM (Science Girl) Project in Türkiye to support women’s empowerment in STEM.
“I see myself as a meaningful raindrop in a vast ocean; knowing that drop is essential for collective growth and community enhancement. I believe a part of the collective trauma we experience arises from losing our connection with nature, and with ourselves. Science, therefore, should not be a tool of separation, but a bridge linking communities, disciplines, and knowledge. We have to take our research out of the lab, find ways to connect it with people. We can create reciprocity between scientific clarity and affective impact by integrating science with human experience. This is where we begin to change the societal narratives.“
Ayse Kose is a part of the Falling Walls Female Science Talents Intensive Track 2026.
