Andries Oosthuizen

Andries Oosthuizen is Minister Plenipotentiary and Chargé d'Affaires a.i. at the South African Embassy in Berlin, which he joined in October 2024. A career diplomat born in Bloemfontein, he entered South Africa's foreign service in 1992 and brings more than 30 years of experience in both bilateral and multilateral diplomacy. His earlier postings include Tunis, the Permanent Mission of South Africa to the United Nations in New York, and Stockholm. He also worked at the Diplomatic Academy of the South African Foreign Ministry, where he trained diplomats preparing for assignments abroad. Mr Oosthuizen holds a master's degree in political science from the University of Pretoria.
