Alexander Bonde

Secretary General of the German Federal Environmental Foundation, Alexander Bonde, heads the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), one of Europe’s largest environmental foundations. The DBU supports innovative projects in environmental protection, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, and manages 70,000 hectares of natural heritage sites dedicated to nature and species conservation. A native of Freiburg, Bonde is former Minister for Rural Areas and Consumer Protection of Baden-Württemberg and served in the German Bundestag from 2002 to 2011.
