This live storytelling evening brings together six women from the global Female Science Talents network to share personal stories from their journeys in science. Told without notes and shaped with the help of theatre professionals at Female Speaking Berlin, these 8-minute stories offer an unfiltered look at the human side of scientific careers—navigating discovery, pressure, bias, and breakthrough.
Rather than presenting data or lectures, BEYOND NOW invites audiences to experience science through lived experience and vivid storytelling. The event highlights how diverse backgrounds, challenges, and perspectives shape research and leadership in science today.
What to Expect and Goals
- First-hand stories about resilience, curiosity, and navigating careers in science
- Insights into how personal identity and culture influence scientific work and leadership
- An engaging format that blends science, theatre, and music to bring research to life
- A focus on dialogue and understanding rather than formal presentation
The evening includes:
- Six curated true stories by women scientists
- Live on-stage moderation
- Anonymous audience anecdotes read aloud
- Live music connecting the program
Speakers, hosts, and musician will be announced in September.

“The data tells us there’s a gap. But these personal stories show us what that gap feels like and why it matters.”
