Kai Bongs

Kai Bongs is Director of Innovation, Engagement and Impact of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Birmingham. He is the principle investigator of the UK National Quantum Technology Hub in Sensors and Timing, which collaborates with over 200 companies to harness economic and societal benefits from quantum technologies. His research focuses on quantum sensors and clocks based on cold atoms, which he translates into real-world applications. His translational activities have been recognised by the IOP Denis Gabor Medal and Prize 2019.
