Innovation Journalism
The Falling Walls Science Summit brings together leading figures from science, technology, and business to discuss groundbreaking scientific discoveries and their societal significance. One underrepresented topic, however, seems to be the transition from scientific knowledge to its economic application—“innovation.” This may represent a gap in journalism that could be addressed through “innovation journalism.”
In this context, innovation journalism should be understood as a journalistic genre that focuses on the transition of scientific and technological discoveries into practical applications and their societal impact. It combines elements of science and business journalism by highlighting how new research findings and technological developments lead to economic activities. The emphasis is on analyzing how such innovations transform industries and affect people’s daily lives.
