Dr Yong-Zhen Zhang received his PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998, and has since worked at the China CDC in Beijing, and the Shanghai Public Health Clinic Center. He performed epidemiological research into the control and prevention of rabies and hemorrhagic fever. Today, Zhang studies virus diversity, evolution, ecology and transmission.
