Wang Yue is a science journalist and has been focusing on the internet and technology products(e.g. robots and drones) for several years. His reports are aimed at revealing a variety of possibilities that technology can change the world.During the past two years, Wang Yue has been to a dozen countries, mostly developing countries like China, to cover different kinds of stories. He uses his reports to tell an extraordinary story of China to the world.
1. Why did you choose to become a science journalist?
Science and technology are always changing the world. It is meaningful as well as a great honor to record human history with my stories as a journalist.
2. What role do science and science communication play in your country?
China is the largest developing country in the world where science and technology are seen as No.1 productive forces. Science and technology play crucial roles in construction of the nation and living of residents so that both the government and citizens attach great importance to its development.
3. What speakers or topics of this year’s Falling Walls events are you most looking forward to? And why?
There are two topics which I am most looking forward to : CYBER ATTACKS and MIND MACHINES.
I really want to know if the two speakers have found the answer of the great question ——
now today which is more intelligent ,computer or human? In the future?
4. In your opinion, which are the walls that will have to fall in science and society within the next five years?
Under the impact of new science and technology, price barrier caused by the technological monopoly is gradually torn down, and eventually disappear. People, no matter wealth or poor, high level or low level,all have the right to enjoy the common wealth brought by science progress.When scientific and technological achievements are fully shared by all human beings, people of different nations, cultures and religions will no longer be restricted and the war will gradually decrease until disappear.
