Tarek Besold is the AI Lead and a Senior Research Scientist at Alpha Health, the health moonshot of Telefonica Innovation Alpha in Barcelona. Before taking up his current position, he held a lecturership/assistant professorship in Data Science at City, University of London. Tarek completed studies in mathematics, computer science, and logic before obtaining a PhD in cognitive science for his work on “Cognitive Aspects of Human-Level Artificial Intelligence”. He serves in different editorial functions for several scientific journals in Artificial Intelligence, and frequently organises and/or chairs conferences and workshops in the field.
