Stefan Kaufmann

Professor Stefan H.E. Kaufmann is founding director & director emeritus at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin. He is also a faculty fellow at Hagler Institute for Advanced Study, Texas A&M University, College Station, professor of microbiology & immunology at Charité, and former president of German Society for Immunology. His breakthrough finding is the rational design and development of a vaccine tested for protective activity against tuberculosis and Covid-19, and as therapy for bladder cancer in advanced clinical trials.
