Sonia Peter

I am Barbadian, living on the most easterly island in the Caribbean archipelago which, unlike the hotspot, is limited in biodiversity. I am a graduate of the University of the West Indies receiving both BSc and Ph.D. degrees with a concentration in chemistry. Natural Products Research unexpectedly led to a passion for ethnomedicine, ethnobotany and conservation of plant biodiversity. I established The Biocultural Education and Research Programme for public education on conservation.
