Samiha Shafy

Samiha Shafy studied Environmental Sciences at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Switzerland. She worked for Swiss and German media before joining Der Spiegel as a science editor in 2007. In 2011-12 she was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard. She became a foreign reporter in 2013. Before starting her current job as a foreign editor at DIE ZEIT in 2020, she worked as a correspondent for Der Spiegel in New York City. Her areas of interest include geopolitics and climate change.
