Paulina Torres is an Chilean-American working in environmental sustainability, helping individuals, communities and institutions reduce their trash and environmental footprints. Her science career and multicultural background have led to her work in sustainable development. She is now focusing on extending environmental education at a local level, in order to instil empowered behavioural change that is sustained in time. Her recent work in Conchalí has shown her that the people closest to an environmental problem, in this case trash pollution, have the greatest need and highest potential to transform that problem.
