Since 2011, Dr Doblhoff-Dier has been Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna. He began his studies in food science and biotechnology in 1979 at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. He gained his postdoctoral teaching qualification in bioprocess engineering in 1995. In 1988, Professor Doblhoff-Dier was awarded a Schrödinger scholarship to the University of Delaware in the USA and to the Biotechnology Institute Montreal in Canada. From 1989 to 1996, he was the production manager of the Bioprocess Laboratory at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. From 1995 to 2002, he was a professor at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.From 2002 to 2005, he was a production manager at Igeneon in Vienna. Since 2005, Prof. Doblhoff-Dier has been Vice-President of Global Manufacturing at Aphton Corporation and until 2011, he was also co-founder und Chief Operation Officer at onepharm R&D in Vienna. From 2009 to 2011, he was co-founder and general manager at Savira Pharmaceuticals in Vienna.
