Monika Gross is professor in Cell- and Molecular biology at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin since 1992. She received her degrees from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and performed her scientific work in cancer research at the German cancer research centre and at the University of California in Irvine.

She has held a range of academic administrative positions over the last twenty years, as dean, vice president of study affaires and from 2011 to 2019 she was president of the university in Berlin. In Berlin, she was active as speaker of the Universities of Applied Sciences in Berlin and engaged in the chamber of commerce and industry of Berlin. For more than 12 years, she was member of the accreditation commission of the German Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN).

Since 2016 she is member of the Executive board of the German Rectors’ Conference and there in the position of vice president for Digitalisation and Academic Continuing Education.
