Meri Iskandaryan is a PhD student at the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology, Yerevan State University, Armenia. She has two grant projects on which she works hard and dreams of becoming a better scientist and helping to improve people’s lives, making it safe for the world around them. She is focusing on biochemistry, microbiology and bioenergetics. Her research interests are in the expression of oxygen-tolerant Hydrogenases as biocatalysts for their future application in Enzymatic Fuel Cells. This will help produce green bioelectricity and reduce pollution by using biodegradable micro-strips instead of conventional batteries, and this is the main theme of her Falling Walls Lab presentation.
