Dr. Marco Lohse is passionate about technology and works for Google’s University Relations across Europe, Middle East and Africa. He helps Google’s research teams to advance research for the benefit of billions of users. Marco started his career working as software developer, researcher and project manager for the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the Max-Planck Institute for Informatics, Saarland University, and the GVU Center at Georgia Tech. Based on the results of his PhD thesis, Marco co-founded a start-up and was managing director until its acquisition. He holds a MSc and PhD in Computer Science from Saarland University. The ACM awarded his work on Open Source multimedia and streaming software.
