Marco Bohnhoff

Marco is head of GFZ Potsdam section ‘Geomechanics and Scientific Drilling’ and Professor for Seismology at Free University Berlin. His research addresses deformation processes over a broad range with a focus on tectonic and induced seismicity. After an apprenticeship in Electronics he completed his Diploma and PhD in Geophysics at Hamburg University. He was then appointed as Assistant Professor at Bochum University where he completed his habilitation. He was a Heisenberg fellow at Stanford University and is a certified manager, was head of a Helmholtz YIG and has lead the GFZ think tank.
