Manuel J. Hartung has been serving as Head of DIE ZEIT’s WISSEN section since September 2019. He is also publisher of DIE ZEIT’s bi-monthly magazine ZEIT CAMPUS and the annual ZEIT GERMANY, which is aimed at an English-speaking audience of students, scholars, and scientists. A graduate of the Henri Nannen School of Journalism, Manuel Hartung started his career with DIE ZEIT in 2004, holding positions as reporter for higher education, editor-in-chief of ZEIT CAMPUS, and managing director of TEMPUS CORPORATE, the content-marketing branch of ZEIT Publishing Group. From 2015 to 2019, Manuel Hartung was Head of DIE ZEIT’s education section CHANCEN. Manuel Hartung has published six books and has taught at the Universities of Göttingen and St. Gallen. Currently, he is an affiliate lecturer at the Institute for Cultural Management and Media Management in Hamburg. He is member of the Bucerius Law School’s Board of Trustees. Manuel obtained his Master’s degree in history from Bonn University and also holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School.
