Manfred Weiss

Groupleader Macromlecular Crystallography

Manfred Weiss studied chemistry in Freiburg and also received his doctorate there. After a postdoc in California, USA, and further stations at research institutions in Jena and Hamburg, he joined the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin in 2009. There he established special measuring stations for the analysis of protein crystals at the X-ray source BESSY II, which are also in great demand by external measuring guests from all over the world. Since 2016 Manfred Weiss has been head of the Macromolecular Crystallography group at HZB.
